Andorians are an aggressive, militaristic species from the icy moon of Andor. Their culture values honor, skill in combat, and honesty. They are a passionate race. This fact, coupled with their warlike nature, and sheer proximity has lead to many conflicts with the Vulcans.

An Andorian’s primary weakness is his antenna, which the species uses to maintain balance. The loss of an antenna can disable an Andorian for a short time. After a day or so, the Andorian will adapt, and be able to maintain balance with one antenna. The second will regenerate after a few months. Unfortunately, he or she will never recover from the shame of losing it in the first place.

After settling many of their primary disputes with the Vulcans with the help of Humans, Andorians agreed to be one of the founding members of the Federation.
