After demonstrating sufficient skill at their specialty and gaining some experience, the cadet will graduate to Crewman, and in doing so take on more responsibilities, be allowed to perform more interesting, important missions. Still inexperienced, the Crewman will take orders from a local, department commander. They will go on away missions, but may be expected to wear red shirts.

Crewmen will have access to better ships, including runabouts, and smaller ships capable of supporting a bridge crew.
