Free Trials are rare for MMOGs. Although game developers will often give a month or more free subscription with the purchase of the game, the genre does not support providing a limited version of the game. In a few cases MMOGs have released free versions with the purchase of a subscription, but that’s usually a way to get players into the game after an unimpressive startup. That will probably not be the case for Star Trek Online.
